Editorial Review :
Every Word A Rainbow contains a selection of simple yet engaging four hundred “happy” words. With only one word per page, the book meant to be a very easy read, and quite possibly a book which one can flip through when troubled by the cares of the world. The choice selection of words makes it a rather scrumptious delight, one which can be savored every day of the year, and maybe more so on weekends!
Many of the book’s “inhabitants” are words we probably first “met” in picture books during early childhood years. Old favorites such as "anchor," and "chipmunks," appear alongside more luminous Zen-like entries such as “balance,” and “compassion.” By staying close to the images which delighted us earlier on, we can, even as adults remain open to childlike joys.
The preface to Every Word A Rainbow provides suggestions on how the book might be enjoyed by the reader. Also included are several blank pages at the end of the book, encouraging the reader, young and the young at heart alike, to add to this collection, perhaps with words such as "mischief," “Mr. Rogers”, or “carpenter.”
A few selected words in the book also have prompts associated with them, directing the reader to look gently within, while seeking a source of happiness, wonder and peace.
